    Leupy VX3 w/CDS

Anyone have any experience with these scopes, specifically how well they track and return to zero? Can you send them your actual come-ups or do they just do calculated drops based on BC and MV?

I'm a die hard Leupold guy and have a couple Mk 4's but I'm getting tired of humping my 16lb rifles. Looking at getting a Savage FCP-SR/ Remmy 5R and putting a VX3 4.5-14 with the CDS on it. For our 230-260lb deer I don't think they gonna notice the difference between my 300 Winnie and this 308. I'm just concerned the internals are not gonna track like the Unertls/USO, S&B's and Mk4's like I'm used to.

I have one on my .308, it tracks back to zero for me.
I'm not too high on the dial up method for box hunting though.
I had a big pig come out at 280 yds this year and it was too dark in my blind to see the turret to crank it up proper. I could have just held over but already had one on the ground and didn't feel like tracking another.
Lesson learned, I'll have my headlight on and ready next time it hits dark thirty.

The Leupold custom shop has always offered cutting custom turrets for their target turret scopes. I know in the past they would use your caliber, bullet choice, muzzle velocity, and altitude to calculate the ballistic curve. I'm sure they would cut you a turret based off your actual range data if you send it to them.
