New stock for Christmas, short action or long action?

I'm gonna buy a new rifle and have a thumbhole stock put on it for my dad and myself for Christmas and they're asking questions I don't know the answer to. I'm gonna buy my dad a Remington ADL in 25-06 and put a Boyd's nutmeg stock on it and I'm gonna put the same stock on my Ruger M77 .270. So are they short action or long action and how would you tell?

They are both long action calibers, your calibers like .308, .243 etc. are short actions. Hope this helps

I would be interested in the stock that you take off of the new ones. I have a long action adl I need a stock for.

Both of those calibers are long action. You will need to specify that the Remington is a ADL(no hinged floor plate).

6mm Remington is a short action. BDL has a hinged floor place. That will need to be specified when ordering.
