This is indeed a nice B-day present! I also have the BLR-22. I picked it because of the short throw of the lever... it's my favorite gun to shoot.

Your son will love that gun! Heck, man take the scope off and give it separately. He might like the "cowboy" look of the "Winchester", and it's fun to shoot like a winchester too... then put the scope on for him to do some "serious" shooting, like shooting squirrels in the head...

Nothing better than a 22 for a young man as a gift!! You done good dad!
