If you can get the stalker elite 7-08 for 89 bucks, you'd better jump on that deal!
Last year, I bought my daughter a CVA "Hunter" at Academy in .243. Put a one-piece scope mount on it, and she shot her first deer with it later in the season. She loves that little rifle. Fits her perfectly. I've shot it plenty of times, and for what it is, it's a great little gun. I had a Rossi single shot 7-08 2 years ago, and there is no comparison. The Rossi couldn't shoot groups to save it's life. This CVA Hunter gives us 1.5" groups at 100 yards day in and day out. I'm sure I could do better if we tried all kinds of different ammo, but this is with green box Remington and silver box Winchester ammo (the stuff you can usually find).
I've had NEF handi-rifles and they are too heavy for kids.
The CVA, IMO is the best single-shot youth rifle I've seen in a long, long time.
I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a backpacking trip or deep into the woods for a lightweight deer rifle.
I have shot and owned a Rossi, Handi-Rifle and now have a CVA Stalker in 223. The CVA Stalker is Hands-Down the most consistantly accurate ... I don't have the Rossi or Handi-Rifle anymore ...
The CVA Stalker gets 3/4" groups all day long at 100 yards with a variety of Ammo.
Same here. I called just about all the stores in Austin and San Antonio with no luck. Found one in SA but it was the 24" version that was not clearanced
