Another build almost done with a little twist... ND3

Ok so I'm in the last stage of finishing this one up. It's a 6.8spc for hog hunting. I have tried like hell to figure out what light to buy... I finally just bought a ND3x40. I couldn't find any decent reviews or pics of how it really worked. I did get the subzero model. First off I use a 30mm scope 99% of the time and the mounts that come with the ND3 are all 1".... So be prepared to come up with something! I haven't got to use it for real yet, but I tested it outside and in complete dark using it with the scope it works perfect out to around 100yards. Using it as a flashlight it isn't near as effective. So far so good. I will try to post some pics of it, but not sure how well it will work.

Ok the pic isn't near as good as it is in real life... But it works really well! The iPhone sucks at this... The tree was 60 yards out and it was bright and clear.

I have heard the non sub zero models will actually shut down and quit working from several people. But when it is working they are supposed to be awesome.

I've heard that too... That's why I got the subzero. It does seem pretty cool! Tomorrow I will get some stuff set up at different distances and try to use a real camera.

I can tell you for a fact the non sub zero models shut down in cold weather. The sub zero models work great though.

You can put a hand warmer on the non-subzero units with a rubberband and they will perk right up. Have one of each. My subzero one is for my bow. you can almost use it for a sight by dialing the beam down. It is pretty cool alright. haven't shot a hog with it yet, but after deer season, ...look out!
