    AR pistol question

First thing. I don't know a thing about AR style firearms. I have wanted one for awhile and seen a AR pistol for sale on another site. My question is can a stock be put on it to make it a short rifle? Will it be legal to carry? Wanting it for a truck gun.

    Thanks

If you want to put a stock on any gun with a barrel less than 16" or 14.5" with a welded flash hider you will have to register it with the batfe as a short barreled rifle and file for a 200$ tax stamp.

Very very illegal without the proper paperwork

That's answers my question. Looks like i should just get a regular AR when I get one.

          Thanks for the answers.

you can attach what they call a "brace." Its pretty much a buffer tube with a cheek weld. There is the SIG Brace, which has a buttstock (non-adjustable) and when attached to the AR pistol it's not considered an NFA item. For me it starts reaching too far into the grey area of the law, although it is deemed legal by the ATF. I'd just get the regular AR though unless you have a trust.
