    Rem Mountain rifle stock configuration

I have found a Rem model 700 mountain rifle in a 243 caliber. It's a good price but I'm a little suspicious of the stock configuration. It's a matte black 22" barrel, black synthetic stock. The only problem is the stock looks like an old style adl synthetic stock. Has the checkering on fore end and palm swell.

I can't find for the life of me a mountain rifle in this configuration. Fellow says he bought it new this spring, and never fired it. Price is hard to beat and the fella claims to have a good track record of selling guns on various sites. I have pics in form of a text he sent me.

Has anyone seen a rem mountain in this configuration. If so please point me in the right direction, or maybe the buyer was misinformed upon purchase. Thanks

A friend of the family had a mountain rifle a long time ago that was all black but I can't remember exactly what the stock looked like. The only one I know of that would be recently new would be with a stainless barrel. If they still made an all black id prob get one

Yeah I'm not convinced it is what he says it is. He may be going by what he was told at the gun store. They may have pulled one over on him! Thanks

CB did they come from the factory like that, or would it be aftermarket?

Guy says its unfired. Stock is unlike any I have seen on mountain rifle, But that's not saying much.
