    Colt Sporter Match Hbar

I've got access to an older model Sporter Hbar that has been shot very little. Does anyone know if this gun is customizable like the newer ARs? Thanks.

Shouldn't have a problem. The only thing I am aware of is that some of the Colt rifles had different size trigger pins. You can get triggers for both sizes though so it isn't a huge issue. Is a a 1:7 twist?

Not real sure.. My father has it so i can't get my hands on it right now. I didn't know if the carrying handle, ironn sights, etc. came off an older model. Thanks for the info.

you will need to make sure the parts are for the colt. But they should be well labeled and should tell you its for the colt (x) yr - (x) yr. if i remember correctly. Im sure some more knowledgable ppl will jump in shortly

It will depend when it was made...the 6601 did not have a detachable carry handle and around that same time Colt was tinkering with a different front take down pin....

You can still customize with rails and such and aftermarket furniture...

A lot of those older colts don't have a detachable carry handle. Also they usually had a slower rate of twist than the newer ar's.

Should be 1 in 7 twist. Trigger pins will be different and take down pins may be different. But you can get trigger parts and uppers with Colt sized pins.

X2, my uncles old sporter doesn't have a detachable one. Looks funny with a scope on top of it
