    Anyone shoot Para 1911s

Looks like Para is trying to turn themselves around since being bought out.

I am interested in the new Para Black Ops 14.45

It's a double stacked 45 holding 14 + 1 on an all steel frame and slide with full length guide rod and machined extractor with G10 grips and skeletonized trigger for $1030

They also make one holding 10+1 and a single stack at 8+1

I shot(and made B class) a P16 for years in USPSA. I put about 60,000rds through it with nothing but a broken extractor at around 40,000rds. I sold it to a buddy and to my knowledge, he's still shooting it in competition. I never had an issue with mine. They are heavy when loaded up.

I think Para dimensions are a little different than other 1911s so you have to get parts from them if you like to customize and stuff. Still a good gun.

I've had mine for about 10 years and at 15 yds you can make a ragged hole out of the 10 ring with a box of shells if you do your part.. In other words I will never be getting rid of this one. Mine is the 7-45

              True..triggers, sears ect are different

I have over 5k rds with zero issues through mine.. gotr a trigger job done on this, new hammer, seat and fiber sight

Are you dead set on para? I would consider the new double stack rock island personally. Mine jad a sloppy factory trigger.

Used to have a stainless P14.45 Limited. Awesome pistol. Mine was made in Canada before they moved. Can't say a single bad thing about it.

I had a P13-45 back in the mid-90's, was a good shooter after a friend at STI worked the trigger. Mine was a "2nd gen" frame with the slimmer grips, after they got their start selling just frame kits. Like Jason said about his P16 above, it was really heavy when fully loaded. I eventually sold it for a stainless Colt Commander.
