    Rem 700 Blackout extractor problem

Just got a 300 Blackout bolt gun. Loaded a few rounds, shot two and was having bolt and extractor issues. Got a gauge to make sure the brass was right and still the same issue.

Cleaned all the factory new gunk from the bolt and the extractor has so much play that when the bolt is all the way up and starting to close the extractor does not engage the rim. It slides up the rim just enough to not catch. Would rather not go back to where I bought the gun as they would probably send it back or something, either way I would be waiting for a while.

other option is find a smith and see if it is fixable, pay a few dollars and get on with it.

Any one ever see this issue, gun is brand new. Anny point of direction. thanks, Ryan

I would try a no go headspace gauge and see if the bolt will close on it.

Or chamber a dummy round and insert a wooden dowel in the muzzle to see if the is to much headspace. If you can push the round back enough to engage the extractor, you probably have to much headspace. That's if you don't have headspace gauges. Gauges are much more accurate.

Sorry didn't read the entire post the first time. Have you taken the bolt out and pushed the case head onto the bolt face? If it still won't engage to the rim when the case head is flush with the bolt face then you have a defective extractor. Cheap on midway and pretty simple to swap out. How to video on YouTube will show you all you need to know. No special tools required.
