Opinions on a Savage 10fcp w/HS Precision Stock

I'm looking at getting into the distance game and wanted to know everyone's opinion on it.
Im leaning towards the 300 win mag chambering over the 308 for more punch.
Also, I am a bit confused as to if this rifle is the one with with a fluted barrel and muzzle break? The savage website says the 338LM offering has it but doesn't specify if the 300 win mag does.
Anyways looking for first hand experience with the rifle. I've heard nothing but good about the Accu-trigger on the LE models from the factory.

P.S. not a reloader, but will be very soon.

I've got the 10 FCP in .308 w/ the McMillan stock...absolute tack driver.

I have a 12 and could give you some load info for a great .308 hand load.

I also had this rifle in .308 with the McMillan A5 stock. I was able to develop a load that shot right at .5 moa. Probably the most accurate rifles you can buy at that price.

I have a model 12 in 300 wsm and it shoots lights out. It is a fluted ss barrel.

I have a Savage 10P 308 with a Choate stock. It is a very accurate rifle with the right load and the Accu-trigger breaks light and clean.

5 shots of Ultramax 110gr hp .308 ammo at 100 yards are covered with a dime out of my savage 12 . Hand loaded 125gr Nosler bt over 46.6 of varget is even tighter.

                    Thanks for the input fellas!
I'm excited to get it on order!
I just need to clear a few funds, and it'll be home bound.
Now, Would anyone recommend Millet optics?

I had a Millet on my Browning 7mm. It was always true and good optics. I would probably go with a Vortex,Leupold or Nikon for the money. In my opinion in that order. I have two Vortex Vipers and love them.
