How loud, or quiet, is a can with 5.56 or 300blk?

With regular (everyday fmj sonic) rounds how loud for both? 50%? 25%? 75%???

I shoot all of my suppressed guns without hearing protection, up to and including my 257 Weatherby.

Outdoors they are about as loud as a 22LR/22Magnum.

If you don't get the barrel out the window of the blind it will still ring your ears but still MUCH quieter than unsuppressed.

We took my AR and a Ruger 10-22 to the range for a test. I shot my AR suppressed and a coworker shot the 10-22. The other guys from the office could not tell which was which.

I shot a colt ar with 16" barrel and a can(cant remember the brand but it was $1200 bucks) the other day and wasnt really impressed. No you dont need hearing protection but I believe hogs or any other animal will run like crazy when you shoot. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Anything that saves your hearing is a great investment...

Cans are not a magical, they are a tool just like anything else..
