    Muzzleloader Question & Problem

A buddy of mine has a Thompson Center 50 cal. It is the Bone Collector model. He is getting great groups at 100 yrds ,but when he tries 200 yrds the gun is shooting all over. He is new to muzzle loading & I don't own one. He is using a 100 grain Hodgdon preformed powder charge & 250 gr Hornady bullet. Can anyone give him any pointers or what to try to get better groups at 200? Any help would be Greatly Appreciated!

Tell him too try the Blackhorn 209 powder. Its a loose powder but burns much cleaner. Also try Barnes TMZ ot T-EZ bullets.

What size groups at 100? Is he using Bore Butter that TC pushes? I tried Bore Butter and it actually hurt my groups. Once I quit using it, my groups are really tight.

Another plus with Blackhorn 209, is that you don't have to clean between every shot.

Are the bullets tumbling at 200 yrds? If so maybe he needs a heavier and or longer bullet.

I shoot 150 grains of White Hots with a 209 primer.....250 grain Hornaday. Put me on target at 200 yards. Bout a softball size pattern. Figure that's a kill
