    Reloading question, about brass?

I recently bought some new media for my tumbler, and it is the brownish red walnut. Cleaned my cases great, but they sure are dusty inside the case. I read online you can rinse them in warm soapy water, but also heard that can make the residue stick to the inner walls? Maybe an air hose and blower might be enough? Or is it hurting anything? I researched all these options online, but am looking to my brothers here for some trustworthy advice?
    Thanks

I shake them out real good and start loading. A little dust isn't goi g to hurt anything on my opinion. I'm not shooting for clover leaf accuracy either. I'm loading for 380 and 38/357.

I stick the air compressor blow nozzle in the primer pocket and blow them out. Doesn't take too long.

I bought a fairly large bag of corn cob media from amazon ($5-10 cheaper) and it has been working very well. Especially if I add a polisher to it.

Run a few USED drier sheets in with your media. The drier sheet will collect most of the dust. as it it new media it will have more dust most likely.

I use lizard bedding from the pet store. (its crushed walnut) I run a few used drier sheets to collect as much dust as possible 10-20 minutes. Remove drier sheets. Then I add some liquid polish. I use the product from Frankfort. But there are many others. I run that in with no brass for a good 10-20 minutes before adding my first batch of brass. I have had good luck with this. Brass is bright and clean. Also the small size of the lizard bedding wont get lodged in the primer pockets like corn cob or some of the larger walnut media.

you can throw in a dryer sheet and it will suck up all the dust. I sometimes will put a paper towel with a little alcohol on it in the tumbler to cut down on the dust.

nu finish polishig compound. about two capfuls and let it run for 15 to 20 minutes to disperse evenly. will help clean brass too.

I use the same media and the dust residue is when I normally change it out.

                    It sure shines the brass.

It happens when you first put it in, or when it needs to be changed? This is brand new, brass looks good, but has the red residue on the inside.

I use that Lyman media mixed half and half with corn cob. It tends to be a little dusty. The longer you use it, the more crud will build up in it. Mostly powder fowling that was removed from brass. As stated, a couple of driver sheets in it will clean alot of the dust out. The cleaning compounds added to media help with the dust as well. Honestly, I run my tumbler in the garage and leave the lid off. Most of the dust ends up scattered around the garage. It's west texas.....I never notice it.
