    17 HMR scope selection?

Does anyone have a reasonably priced scope recommendation for 17 HMR? I would like something that will work well with a light at night for coons inside of 100 yards as well as daytime shots out to 200 yards.

I would also really like it if it was available in silver.

Silver limits your options in "reasonable" that I'm are of. Not knowing your definition of "reasonable" I'm assuming around $200. So for that price I'd go with a Nikon or Redfield.

Yea $200 or under would be good.

Silver is not a requirement but it sure would look better on the stainless gun.

I've got a buckmaster 3-9x50 BDC on my savage 17 and it's awesome. I did a side beside comparison of the buckmaster and the rifleman and couldn't tell a difference. Great scope for the money

I put the Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44 on my Savage. It's nice to be able to see that tiny hole on a target at a greater distance. The things feels like a perfect match for the gun.

I agree that finding silver is going to be painful.

                      17 HMR scope selection?

Looking at a Nikon Prostaff 3-9X 40mm BDC. That should be plenty of scope for a 17 shouldn't it?

                      Thanks for all the replies.

With the varying ranges of a .17 I'd say a AO is a must. I put a bushnell 4-12x4O AO on mine for $100 and it hits a dime at 100 yards. Pics to follow for the pics or it didn't happen crowd.

Here's the pic of the dime. First shot just a little low but was a hit, second hit the middle. It's a bushnell banner

Yes. That'll be fine. Nikon is a great piece of glass for us budget hunters
