    Custom Mauser

I picked this rifle up over the weekend. Someone with some mauser experience please tell what you think of this rifle.

I would really like to know what it's worth, I know what I paid, so really I guess that what it worth. I would really like some real world number from the gun nuts here!

Cant help you on exact $$ but thats a nice rifle.

A lot of custom guns are built off that action. My gunsmith did 3 or 4 of them for my FIL and the 7x57 is his favorite gun. The action functions great, easy to find and much cheaper than trying to buy a rem 700 action

I know nothing about mausers except that my grandfather has one that is mine when he passes. But that is a dang nice gun.

I would need to know the other markings on it to tell you anything beyond it looks clean.

I live that stock! My Mom has a rifle that was custom built in the 60's using a Mouser action and a mannlicher stock. It looks nice but I feel the stock takes away from its function.

When it becomes mine it will possibly become a 7-08 with a better stock.

The g33/40 Mauser was made at the Brno factory between 1940 and 1942 while Germany occupied Czechoslovakia. They were very well made examples of the Mauser design.

Unless you can confirm who put the custom rifle it can be hard to come up with a good value. The pic's look to be a well put together rifle. With the good wood and metal work by an unknown gunsmith I would guess it would bring around $800 on the high end. If you could say it was made by a well known smith it could fetch several thousand.
