I looked at the enhanced, but didn't want to drop $900. $730 was steep enough.

I've always loved the way a 1911 fits in your hand. I have not ever really been a .45acp fan though. I'd rather have one in 10mm or 38super, but I wasn't going to pay for an STI. This will mainly be a pig hunting sidearm. I may hunt with it out of the bow stand for pigs if I can resist taking the bow, which I doubt. Haven't been able to do that yet.

Yea I hear ya but I actually got my Enhanced for $740 from my FFL dealer here in town so I couldn't pass it up.

Nah man you got a very nice pistol with the simple mods you can do like trigger, grips, extended beaver and hammer if you want, you will have a custom looking gun. Plus I really like the sights on the standard R1.

Nice! I love 1911's! If you decide you want a 10mm down the road rock island armory make a very affordable 1911 in 10mm.

I did like the lower profile sights on the standard. Trigger was nice too.

Yup this would be the affordable way to go!
