Got a good deal at academy

I was at academy earlier doin some ammo browsing.. An older gentleman walked up to the gun counter and asked for a good cheap shotgun. The kid behind the gun counter pulled out a Vinci.. The man said he wanted to keep it at $2-300. The kid pulled out a Yildiz O/U. The man walked off, and I said "Excuse me sir, you should really take a look at the Mossberg Maverick." He ended up buying one, and I guess said something to the manager. The manager walked up to me and offered me a job. Lol. Said I couldn't take it, and he asked if there was something I needed. I said I was lookin at some Caldwell shooting bags cuz I didn't have any. He picked up some, cut the tape and ripped a couple corners and said it was mine for $10. Definitely wasn't expecting anything like that to happen going into academy for a couple boxes of ammo.

That was definitely a 1st for me. Lol. I've spent a ridiculous amount of money in academy and sold a bunch of stuff for them too and never had anything like this happen.

LoL. Know the feeling. I've sold several handguns and rifles for them. Nothing but a smirk frim the employee and I've heard him tell the customer they will be unhappy in a month or so. I know the manager and mentioned it to him and he told the employee I probably have forgotten more than they know.

I use to work there behind the gun counter with all their pros, loosely used term to say the least. Must have been Tyron who hooked ya up, pretty dang good fella right there. The other manager isn't worth a pot to pee in, or I wouldn't pee on him if he was on fire!!

This was down in spring.. I've never gotten anything but dirty looks from the guys in Killeen. I go in to talk to Branden sometimes and usually walk out with ~$100 of stuff I don't need. Lol

My wife worked at academy in victoria for 7 years, including managed for the last 4 until recently.

I can't even explain how much shtuff I've sold for them..

Lol.... You sold a mossberg maverick... That's huge news. That dood is gonna be mad at you the first time he has problems.... I've heard all sorts of bad stuff about them. Good luck to you and him but he'd probably been better off with the yildiz... It shoots, even if the monobloc separates on its own and the shotgun blows in half.
