? On Bushmaster AR

I have a guy offering to sell me a Bushmaster XM15-E2S. I am not experienced in AR's and was wondering if anyone on here has this model and if you like it. Also, I have never seen a barrel like this one has. Anybody know? guy said he bought it like that and doesn't know much about the rifle, except previous owner put about 300 rounds through it. Any idea on value?

Uh, not a barrel. Just the wrong hand guard IMO.

Well like I said, I have never seen a barrel like that, but who knows..I asked him and he said it was a barrel, and I asked if it was crowned and he said yes. After the replies I'm pretty sure he really doesn't know. I'm going check it out this weekend though.

I bet you're right. Lol. If you can get it for the right price go for it. I personally wouldn't pay more than 7 bones for it. And I'd try and talk him down to 6 but I'm cheap.. Depending on how used it is, I'd go even lower

I'm so confused by this gun... but the first pic has two doods staring at it just as confused as you are (check out the shoes of the guy taking the pic and his friend on the opposite (top) side) both of them are just as confused as I am...

Id need a price to figure out where to go from here... too low = stolen... too high= guy bought it during the craze as the only one he could find...

Ok, I talked to the previous owner and he said it is a heat dissipator. i asked if it could be removed and he said he didn't think so. I think I am done with this deal, I just don't like the looks of it. btw, current owner wants $600 for it.
