Admittedly, this is nothing more than a shameless show-off post, but....I just gotta show it off!!!
The rifle is a BRAND NEW never been fired, never even loaded, lefthanded 9-lug Weatherby Mark V Deluxe 30-06 from 1985. I got it from the original owner who had bought it thinking he wanted something fancier and more powerful than his 30-30 but then just couldn't bring himself to shoot it for fear of dinging it up. So it sat for 28 years, only being taken out to be admired.
This was all nifty and everything until last week when I scored a brand new in box Leupold M8 6x42 with the MultiCoat 4. Serial number indicates 1993 date of manufacture. Not so much as even a smudge on it.
I don’t understand how folks can spend such good money on things then not use them, but hey, I ain't complainin'! I'll take a classic pair like these over anything made today.
