You can definitely dump a hog with a Nagant, no problem. 7.62x54r is no slouch.

What's not to like, proven battle rifle with extraordinary action in Stalingrad and Leningrad, not to mention modern theatres. Inexpensive and plenty of old soviet block ammo (corrosive). Plus, I think they actually look "pretty".

          Andy,

Buy a 91/30 hex receiver MN, pair it with an Archangel stock, replace the trigger with one suited for the 21st century, then enjoy your dirt-cheap-to-shoot 30cal tactical blaster.

The M38 is an excellent rifle to carry when hunting hogs with dogs. It will put them down with authority and flame kiss em. Haha

One of the few guns that can outfit an army for 500 bucks.

Nice rifles for the price. I love mine got it for cheap and I would feel confident on a deer or pig out to 200 with some soft point ammo. I know it will dump a yote in a hurry though. I also like the look and feel of mine. Kick isn't bad about the same as any other .30 cal out there.

I would leave it original but for a couple hundred more bucks you could get it chopped and sporterized and have a really nice gun for the price.
