    Mark 3 vs. buck mark

    Guys,

I am going to get a new 22 pistol. I like these two and don't want to spend over 500.

Which one would you get and why? Everyone I know has a the ruger, but I like the buck mark a lot.

    Any input?

    Thanks guys.

There's a reason everyone has the Ruger

It is half the price...I think that plays into it. But that's why I'm asking.

Had a Buckmark and had many thousands rounds of fun with it. Took squirrels in trees and hogs in traps with it. It was accurate enough for squirrels to 30yds. You can really only take the top strap off to clean it, but that never really posed a problem. I think there are more aftermarket goodies for the Ruger, but both are fine right out the box as is.

Thanks good info. Is the ruger that accurate out of box?

Love my Browning Camper model. Very accurate and fun to shoot. Fits my hand perfect.
The Ruger's are great guns also. Can't go wrong with either one.

I will add this. My buck mark had to have some high power shells at first to cycle.

My Ruger is a MK II. It is superbly accurate. I use it for squirrel hunting mostly.

I like the Browning, but that's only sentiment talking. I had one as a young man and it rocked. They are both awesome, if you can get ammo for them.

I have both and it would be hard to choose.
The new black label buckmarks are sweet.

Sure do like my slab side buckmark. Haven't shot the ruger though.

Both are great pistols. Either should shoot very well with its preferred ammo. I'm partial to the Ruger. I think long term, the anodized finish of the Buckmark might wear worse than say a stainless Ruger.
