No. Even in the slide with barrel around it and no spring it is near impossible to turn.

you might have a defect that would require a slight amount of filing to remove a burr that's causing you to have such a difficult time turning it. should be tight, but not impossible to turn!

solution suggestion: put it down, walk to the fridge, grab a beer, repeat 2-3 times or until content.

Is your slide moving back at all when you push the spring down? It only takes a tiny bit and the bushing won't go no matter how hard you try.

I would sit there and work it back on forth in the slide till u get it to free up some then put it back together.

I'm with the others you must have a bur or something In it. I doubt it was bad from the factory I feel like they would've felt it during assembly

Any luck yet? Get a bushing tool! Great tool to have. Take the barrel out and just try to install the bushing into the slide. See if it will install that way. Should help to narrow it down.

Will it rotate freely left/right with the slide assembly off the frame?

SIGs can have really close(tight) tolerances, often requiring the bushing wrench mentioned above.

Can you remove the bushing or is it stuck?

Make sure you release the hammer.

Take it back apart. Add oil. try again.

Don't listen to the video in post 6 with the volume on. His voice will annoy you more than you already are.

I have the same model and it is much easier than my other 1911's because you don't have to use wrench and can do with less pressure. Did you try seating the bushing from the other side i.e. start with it up to the right, depress spring and see if it will turn into place? Mine seats from the same side - left - as your picture but I have no issue at all with turning once spring is depressed enough to give clearance. Sounds like you may have obstruction keeping it from turning. Try once more and take back to dealer - good luck
