    Reloading with Happy results

Wasn't happy with my sons Encore barrel and its accuracy. 1.5"-2" at 100yds was the best I could get with factory ammo. Yes, it did work and he did kill his first deer. However, today I found the happy load for it. Found the right powder load in a reduced recoil capacity and knocked it out of the park, and that's at a max 7x scope. Ill shoot a hog in the noggin next month for a terminal performance test. However, I'm looking forward to seeing what I can wring out of my battery of hunting rifles.....picture is a 5 shot group from this afternoon, and yep, it was raining. 85gr Sierra spitzer soft point and H4895 loaded at approximately 72% max velocity.

That's sub half-MOA, or maybe 1/3 MOA. Only caution about reduced loads--shoot 'em in the ear.

Thanks! Went from disappointed to overly happy in a short afternoon. Best part was watching my little hunting buddy absolutely wreck the bull's eye at 100yds with the 10rds of practice ammo I made. It was the first time I had him shooting at 100yds, and he made me a believer! Normally kept him at 50 yds and closer, no need to now, at least at the range. He noticed the difference in the recoil, and that made him pretty happy and confident!

Yes Sir! That's the plan in mind in a little over 3 weeks. I'll be doing the terminal testing for my own piece of mind.

Not trying to get to technical, but looks over 1/2" to me. But great loads none the less. Great job!

Hopefully one day I can get into reloading. Seeing something like this really tempts me to break down and drop that initial startup cost. Good work
