    Gun restoration?

I have an old sears 20 guage that was my dads first gun over the last 30+ years the barrel has gotten rusted and the stock is scratched up.. It been in my gun safe for 5 years and I was wondering if anywhere could just re do it making it look close to new.. No one uses it anymore but the gun means a lot to my dad and I was thinking about doing it and giving it to him for Christmas..

I have the same in 410. I sanded the barrel down, reblued it and with my mini parts blaster I stripped the receiver down and shot some color on it. The stock didn't look bad so I left it as it was.

This can be done, and it all depends on what level of restoration you want done to the shotgun. I know of gunsmith that does these sort of restorations. He is an old world type of craftsman. I can PM you his number.

I recently picked up a marlin 30-30 for cheap that was in pretty rough shape. If you have the time and patience you can do it yourself. I stripped the whole gun down reblued barrels and all and re-stained the stock. Came out pretty nice, but there was a point I had wondered if I bit off more than I could chew. Took a break watched some YouTube came back to it and finished it up.

What year 30-30? I have done a couple older ones and had a hard time getting the blue to take.

It is a 1990, I did have a hard time getting the blue to take as well. That's the part that got me worried and made me think I was in over my head. If you want to know the tricks I used let me know.
