    Is there a Ruger rifle...

that shoots both .22lr and .22 mag? I have seen an ad in a local classifieds for one, but can't find any info online about what model it might be. Might be a typo, too.

Any info yall can provide? The guy's asking about $550 for it.

That's what I am thinking, typo. The case length is a lot different, and a LR would have headspace problems in a mag.

I Have one but it was custom made by a gunsmith about 30 years ago. it was a 22lr made to shoot 22mag and still shoot 22lr.

I dont think anyone makes a production mod.

Maybe he meant 22LR and 22 Short

It was a typo in the ad...not a rifle, he's got a Ruger Single Six convertible revolver.

makes sense, all you have to do is swap out cylinders for the specific cartridge

Yep. The ad also stated he had a Taurus Judge Public Defender "shotgun" for sale... SMH. That's local advertising in a small town for ya

That makes more sense. The 22LR and 22 mag are obviously different lengths but that are also different diameter, maybe just a different taper. The only reason I know this is I tried to put a 22 mag case into my 22LR cylinder just to see and it would not even go past the bullet into the cylinder. I put the calipers on it and sure enough the case was a larger diameter.

I don't see how you could safely make a rifle that could chamber both.

Makes sense... Now I kinda want ruger to make the single six convertible revolver with a butt stock and threaded 16.5" barrel.

                            That would be SWEET!

Then maybe they could offer one in 17 caliber to shoot 17hmr and hm2!

I may have to buy two and build one into a rifle.

TBH gives me horribly expensive/great ideas.

Suppressor wouldn't do much good on a revolver would it? Seeing as how it's got a cylinder gap and all?
