1911 front sight problem

Ive got a question for the 1911 gurus. On my STI Spartan 9mm I noticed the other day when I cleaned it after a 3 gun match that my front sight moves to the left and right about an 1/8th" when you touch it. Im guessing this may explain why I had a flyer on a few targets which were farther away. My question is what to do? Can I just take it off, make sure its clean and put some high temp Loctite on it? Any suggestions?

I would think if its not loose where it will easily fall out that loctite would work. Not sure 100%. If all else fails new sight?

Something sounds fishy to me. No visible breaks in the sight itself allowing for the play? There would have to be a reason why a press-fit sight would all of a sudden start moving. Personally I'd tap it out, examine the slide and sight for marks that indicate a problem.

No visible breaks that I can see. I bought it used and I know it didn't have any play when I bought it.

Front sight is loose. You have a few options. Come see me at the shop for repair, send me your address for me to send you a new one to have your smith I stall it, or send me the slide so we can fix it. Easy to handle. Sorry for the troubles.
