Wanting to put a scope on my Prohunter muzzleloader. Just curious if I need medium or high mounts to get proper clearance for the hammer?

Either will work.
I'm running mediums with 40 mm objectives
And highs with 50mm objectives
I use Leupolds dual dovetail mount system: http://www.leupold.com/hunting-shoot...re-omega-1-pc/
or MGM's picatiny rail: http://matchgrademachine.com/Encore-Scope-Bases/
with Leupold cross slot rings: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/540...s-gloss-medium
What you are going to want now is a hammer extension though: http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=93
Hope that helps

I also run mediums with a 40 objective, but I use Talley one-piece base/ring setups on almost everything I have, and DNZ one-piece base/ring on another.
However, I do not use or recommend hammer extensions, especially since you have a Prohunter which should have the swing hammer. There have been numerous posts on various sites regarding problems inherent with adding hammer extensions to the T/C hammers. Those include light primer strikes (unless you change the hammer spring), broken hammer spurs, hitting the scope, etc... As I'm not in need of speed with a single shot, and I never hunt with gloves in TX, I never saw a use for them. I had one come on my pistol frame, and I removed it. I've always been able to get my thumb in between my hammer spur and scope. Just offset your hammer spur by loosening the allen screw on top of the hammer and swing it to the appropriate side. Should take care of your clearance problems if they happen.
All the best,
Glenn

But if Mike Bellm says his extensions are good to go I'd say they are
