Here's one of my daily carries, the stippling really improved the grip on the small grip.

After doing that one and after deciding i like it i pulled out my 25-06 and went after it. I have big plans for this rifle in the future but they got put on hold until i finish my contender.

I am going to do some on the front of the stock as well and then give it some sort of paint job. I am all about cheap customization and this should hold me over until i can start building it for real.

Let me know what you think.

Looks good & I'm sure it feels better to grip it.
What's the process for going that?

The only method i know of is using a soldering iron. It takes awhile and get old real fast depending on you patience level. I take my time around the borders and then just fill in the lines.

You can use different tips on the soldering iron to get different shapes, the options are endless on designs and shapes.

i will warn y'all it is a very aggressive grip and can be pretty rough if carrying against your body. But you can take some really fine sandpaper and smooth out the roughness of it if desired.

Afterwards I take sandpaper to smooth it down just a touch.

        I really like stippling.

Cool, I may try it on a rifle & see how it turns out.

So I'm assuming the soldering iron tip only touches the surface for a moment & changing the angle contact is needed. Probably need to spin the gun around from time to time also.

correct, On rifles it is alot easier to seperate the stock from the rest of the gun. You will have to rotate the gun, its a process you kind of learn as you go.

Once the iron is hot it doesnt take much contact to work and the more pressure the deeper the indention will be, resulting in a more aggressive texture.

That looks great, i didnt want to do a full stipple on the pistol so i just followed the factory panels. I really wish i had more polymer guns!

So that's what stippling looks like! I've been reading about it and had no idea what the end result looks like. Now I do know what it looks like. Very cool DIY project.

I've done stippling but for art work that I've done for computer graphic design's requirement in Art I II and III. I know what you mean by patience and it does get really frustrating because it feels like forever before you are finally making any progress. Lol
