    Lets talk AR optics

I know everyone has their opinion on which AR optic is best.

Lets talk about them here - and post WHY you think it is one of the best.

I like eotech. They handle damage well, have a clear site of vision. If all else fails you can look through the window with iron sights. You can also mount the magnifier behind them (Yes it's only 3x) It also provides very quick target acquisition, so it can be used at close range, or further range with the magnifier. Works great for shooting pigs, and targets.

One of the flaws I find with eotech is the on off switch. I don't like having a sight that I need to turn on.

What do you like, what do you use it for, and why?

I went with the 1-4, if there was a 1-6 in my price range I would have gone that route. No batteries

Why did you choose that and what will it be used for?

Plinking, pigs, eventually competition. Wouldn't have an issue taking 200+ yards with practice

at this time I have a 4.5x14x40 Nikon BDC on mine. I deer hunt with it and the extra magnification is great when wanting to shoot 3 or 400 yards. BTW mine is a 6.8spc I am wanting to sell that scope though and put a luepold 3x10x50 vxIII on it.

a 1x4-6 optics is more useful on a GP rifle than a RDS.
it will easily take you from face shooting to 300m.
using a RDS W/magnifier is more moving parts, bulkier and batteries to deal with.

              my house gun wears a T1, my 300BFD wears a TR-24G,

whats better for you is what you train with.

100% agree with the training part.

I have a Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14X40 Mildot that I will be using for hunting on my LR308. I don't have a ton of experience with a lot of different brands, but I thought the price was right for this one

I love the Nightforce 1X4 NXS. It has the illuminated reticle for low light shooting. I don't care for my EoTech as you have to turn it on first.
