    Which NV compatible scope?

First off, I don't know what I am doing and I don't know what to do. I know that is a terrible combination, but it's true. I'm fixing to have in my possession a pvs-14, but I have no idea what my options are for scopes and accessories and what it can be used with. This will be mostly used on an AR, but I'd like to use it on variable rifle scopes (if I can) as well.

On the AR, I think I'd like to use a 1x red dot or something similiar but what to get?

Is the PVS-14 safe to use on a .308? I'm not sure what the recoil threshold is for the PVS-14. If it is, what is needed to use it with the variable power scope?

    Thank you!

Vortex Strikefire. 1x removable zoom, red or green dot and won't break the bank.

I'm running an eotech exps 3 in front of my pvs 14....not really thrilled with it. The pvs 14 is much darker and the frame of the eotech makes the view a little blurry. I've run aimpoint m68's without that issue, it was a much better combo IMO.

I wouldn't use magnification....it's seems like a good idea but the clarity suffers greatly. They are not great with acogs. Also, the bigger the objective the more light you're cramming into your pvs 14, not a great thing.

Finally recoil...it was made to handle recoil from an ar platform firing standard military munitions, that's fine. If I were you, I wouldn't risk firing it on a bolt 308. These things are super tough and I wouldn't hesitate beating the crap out of one issued to me. I've never had an issue out of the three that were issued to me long term, nor the one I own personally, but if I'm footing the bill for repairs I'm going to be a lot more cautious.

Will you break it doing anything you've mentioned? Probably not, they're pretty reliable however it's not uncommon for them to develop issues.
