    Need review of Mossberg 930

Are they reliable? Will they cycle with light loads? Just general opinions of them.

Dale will be along eventually to give his review of the 930.

In general, they are reliable. Many 3-gun guys are using them. That should tell you something. They aren't quite a Benelli, but they also don't carry the price tag of a Benelli either.

        Here I am.....

        Mossberg 930 review..

I have one of the new ones which is the third revision of the weapon, the first 2 versions that came out had multiple issues with very poor QC, front sight was canted on first version , second version the set screws were over torqued and stripped.

Mossberg was inundated with a lot of unhappy people with weapons that needed repair or complete replacement. They stepped up and made things right with some complete weapons replacements and others were fixed with barrel replacements to fix the issues.

Once they had their QC issues fixed on their end they started putting out a weapon that rivals the top end weapons in its class. I read the current reviews last year and bought one days before a instructors class that was held by the Tennessee Valley authority's Nuclear Protection Team. 25-30 Instructors with varied shotguns took the line for five days of torture. By the end of the 5 days very few weapons were still running without problems or complete failures. There were TWO 930PSX shotguns and they were still running as hard as you could run them. My weapon was being shared by three instructors and ate everything they/Me could feed it from cheap loads to full slugs and earned plenty of praise.

Since then I have ran it in a few courses and have been really happy, my daughter ran it in a course I held up...

FOR THE PRICE its very hard not to look at it when compared to others, others that cost quite a bit more and offer nothing more but a name. Im VERY HAPPY with mine and can tell you the there a 5-7 instructors that after using mine or shooting it have bought them...you wont regret the purchase.

Tuff: how would you compare it to a M1 or the FNH, other than price? maybe a quick pro/con from your experiences running classes?

That did it, I own one now.

I have two. They have both been great as long as I run heavy loads. The cheap stuff they don't like. May still need break in time. Only got a couple hundred rounds through them.

To be honest, there is no comparison to the OLD m1's they are in my opinion the best auto combat shotgun ever made... the new M1's are picky eaters..

I have only had my hands on a single FNH auto and it was very nice fit and finish and ran great...but it comes with a big price tag also..

The price is what sets them apart...
