    Wby-itis

I had a used but cared for lefty Weatherby Mark V Ultralight in 257 and stumbled into a like new Accumark 300 Wby this weekend. Even trade, and I definitely came out good on this one. I also have a Mark V Deluxe 300 Wby, which I hope will peg an elk one day. This Accumark though will be mated with a Zeiss 3-9x40 Z600 that's been waiting for a rifle. Probably just a range toy, as are most all my Mark V's.

Best part about the 300 Accumark is that I went from an FFL-transferred rifle to an unpapered one. S'pose I need to slap a pic up to make it count, eh?

Well then here you go. My new 300 with its significantly nastier cousin, a braked 338-378.

The 338-378 has a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 30mm waiting on some mounts and rings that are en route.

That 338-378 looks wicked. I'm hoping to add a 30-378 to the mix in the near future. Does that factory break tone her down a good bit?

The bolts are on the wrong side...

              Hehe, nice looking shooters.

Yes, the brake is essentially the difference between a shooter and a I'm-afraid-to-shoot-it. I have 2 different 378's,and the effectiveness of the brake is pretty amazing. Won't shoot it without ear plugs though!

Lol I packaged up my 257 wby today to send to High Tech Custom in colorado to have them install a brake on it.

My cut off for a break is 243/6mm if it kicks harder than that... It's getting a break.

You're a bigger man than I... That 300 wby would be in a box headed to have a break installed before I even shot it .

The best thing I ever did for myself for shooting rifles was buy a Marlin Guide Gun. I have shot heavy loads out of it so much that I have learned to handle recoil. If it recoils as much as my 45-70,which the 300 Bee does, it doesn't even count. 375 Ruger, 458 Lott, 378 Wby, now we're talking about some recoil that'll get your attention!

Pass.. I enjoy going to the range... I don't enjoy getting beat up. I've never had a flinch and don't want to develop one... If 145 bucks saves me that learned behavior i will spend it in a heart beat!!!
