Review on my Springfield XDS 9mm

I picked up a new Springfield XDS 9mm earlier this week. Today I finally had time to take it apart and remove all the factory grease. I cleaned it well and put a pretty heavy cost of oil on all parts that contact each other.

I have had the mag loaded for a few days to help the break the spring in. I run a box of PMC 115 grain jacketed hollowpoints through it with no malfunctions. The little pistol is amazingly accurate! All shots were fired at 15 yards. The trigger is very nice, reset is perfect. It is defiantly worth the money spent. Only problem was one of mags that came with it was defective, feed lip was cut wrong. Springfield has me a new mag on the way. Here are a few pics of the XDS 9mm.

Thanks for the review, I've seen where a few folks have said something about the mags being cut wrong.

How did you like the textured grip? I didn't like the feel of it in the hands. Thought it would be a little rough during an extended shooting session.

I liked the the texture. In a 45 I see how it could be a little much, the 9mm has very little recoil or muzzle flip. If you get a chance to shoot one give it a chance, you will be adding one to your collection. There suppose to be releasing a 40 in the near future.

Fired a 100 more rounds of hollowpoints and a 100 fmj's with no malfunctions.

Have you shot the xds 45? If so, how did the recoil compare? The recoil was very harsh on the 45 I shot. I hated it. Nice gun but the recoil kept me away. Hoping the 9mm is smoother.

Was there any wear on the spring? On the 45 version the spring which you rested on the barrel i believe, looked as if i shot 1000 rounds when i just shot 50.

Haven't shot the 45. The recoil is very mild in the 9mm imo.

Mine is showing some wear also, think it's normal though.

Congrats on the new purchase. A well made pistol.
My son picked up a XDs in 45 a few weeks ago and put these grips on it. Makes a BIG difference in control. Give them a look. Recoil was more manageable with these grips. They are specifically for the XDs and Glock.
