some of you may have noticed we haven't been killin' many hogs lately. Well for some reason I have a very sore shooting arm. The Doc says it's similar to tennis elbow and it should heal if rested. Well I've been working long hard ours and it's excruciatingly painful. Hurts to even brush my teeth. It's been a month since I squeezed a trigger. Michelle has been hunting some, with little to no luck. The hogs have left our country for the most part.
Well we got out for a little night hunting last night. The intent was to let Michelle or my daughter do the shooting since it's very painful for me to handle the rifle. We spotted what I thought was a lone calf right off and dismissed it as such. As we got closer it's head came up and I knew it was a hog! I also knew there wasn't time for anyone else to do the shootin' , he was leaving quick! I slapped the Thermal on the rifle and followed quickly, leading slightly as the hog approached the 150 yards mark. BOOM down he went! Yep I still got it pain or no pain! It was a stinkin' ol boar. AS we drug him with the truck to a ditch, Michelle spotted more hogs. We ran as fast as we could to head them off without them catching our wind. Dang bomber sized mosquito's were draining our blood as we ran. Michelle dropped a boar and the others scattered. She dropped another and the first got up. She dropped him again. Don't know what happened to the second one, but we never found it.
