    Magpul B.A.D. Lever

What are your thoughts on this item. I have one "in the cart" but I am waiting on some opinions.

    Is it necessary?
    Does it make a difference?
Does it interfere with the trigger in any way?

    Etc Etc......

Does it make a difference? I like it, took some getting used to.
Does it interfere with the trigger in any way? No unless you where heavy gloves

I have one of 1 of 2 ARs. I will be getting another one.

Just recently put one on mine, but haven't shot enough lately to get used to it being there, and to become accustomed to using it. I'll be following your post

To me it's a gimmick. I carry my AR on duty would not put one on.

My reasoning is that it is a fine motor skill to take your trigger finger and manipulate the small lever in the trigger guard. However, it is a gross motor skill to slap the side of you rifle with you plam to engage the new mag. But, that is for me and a duty weapon. I certainly don't see any issue with one on a personal AR that you play around with.

I have a couple I like them and the purpose. However I am just a causal shooter and don't use my weapon in any fire fights

Putting mine on tonight. I think it's just a quicker movement. Instead of slapping the side, left hand goes back to the foregrip

You can still slap the side if you want.

I index my finger right about it so it makes is easy to hit on my way back to the tigger.

Downside would be engaging the bolt on accident before you have another mag in.

Most of the guys on our swat team use them. It helps on clearing double feeds or any other malfunction where you need to lock the bolt back. It certainly isn't necessary and even having one on the rifle does not stop you from using one the normal way. It gives you another option to lock back with less movement and quicker.

..and it gives you another way to activate the bolt catch if you have a Redi-Mag.

Trigger control is a fine motor skill. If using a BAD lever is too difficult under stress then how will you manipulate the trigger? In our quals my partner routinely marvels at how quickly I get back on target on the mandatory reload. I ran my gun for years without and tried the BAD lever on the recommendation of a gunfighter friend who was near religious about basic equipment only.

Training and stress inoculation(force on force training) will let you know if you gear is a gimmick. Everything on my weapon has a function for speed.

                          Bingo!!!
Try locking that bolt back without removing your strong hand from the pistol grip....ain't gonna happen.

                            How much is it?

                            Necessity? No...

But cool and helpful none the less.

Operating the trigger is the most basic function of a weapon and there is zero correlation between operation of the trigger and a bolt on accessory. If you have one and train with it then great. I would not reccomend it on a duty carry weapon as stated above. Your index finger has one function on a weapon, that is to operate the trigger. But, to each is own and this is only my opinion. I have a bit of trianing in this field but I'm sure others have plenty more.
