just did a trade for one very nice looking pistol. 40 s&w, rounds. box, 3 -14 round mags. but a question has came up. on all of the mags, .40 s&w and .357 is stamped. I know that the total length of a .357 is greater than a .40 any help on this? thanks

It's talking about the 357 sig
357 sig: Overall length 28.96 mm (1.140 in) Base diameter 10.77 mm (0.424 in) Shoulder diameter 10.77 mm (0.424 in)
40 S&W: Overall length 28.8 mm (1.135 in) Base diameter 10.8 mm (.424 in) Shoulder diameter 10.77mm (.423 in)
These mags often interchange in various guns... As the bullets are Dang near identical.

The 40 S&W is a .40 bullet diameter.
You will need a barrel swap to shoot the 357 sig out of your current m&p 40...
Just because the mags interchange doesn't mean the bullets will fire through the gun.
If you buy a box of 357 sig your gonna need a 357 sig barrel also before you can use it.
