Thanks guys. I might try the bersa first. It seems pretty cheap and easy to find.

My wife is a new shooter as well, and has small hands, she hates the ruger LC9, she said its too thin and it hurts the web of her hand. She likes my Bersa thunder 380, but even that hurts alittle. She has shot ruger lcp, lc9, bersa thunder 380, 9mm makorav, and several other pistols of similar make and modle.

Now when i put my 1911 in her hands i cant keep it loaded and i need to find a second job to afford the ammo. She says the .45 isnt so snappy and the weight and size make it a dream to shoot.

I plan to buy a kimber ultra carry next and she thinks she is going to take it from me :-)

You know I really thought about a 1911 in 9mm. I think you just decided my next purchase for me

Started my wife on the Walther pk380 and then got her the Sig p238 for her carry gun. She loves both. I shot both and for a starter gun, the pk380 is perfect. Shoots Fiocchi ammo all day long....
          Little recoil.

Not to mention the bullets are cheaper.

That's what I would reccomend. If you're going full size, just get a 9mm.

But if you're dead set on .380 Walther PK380 is a pretty good choice.

Sig P238 is a great .380 as well. Just not full sized. It;s slightly bigger than the Ruger LCP. But we love our Sig P238. Great little shooter!

                But it is tiny.

My brother has one and it is a great shooting gun. We actually popped a pig that ran up on us one night drinking in the pasture with it. Fun to shoot but $$$ for the ammo.

I have the Walther pk380. I dont like the feel of small pistols, so this gun was perfect for me. My husband even enjoys shooting it and he's not really a pistol guy.

Try to find some of these guns either at a range to try out or maybe borrow from friends/TBHers. Everyone is different and each gun fits differently. My wife has small hands, I guess they're small, but she likes my G19. So much so that I bought a new G23 for me and I'm giving her the G19.
And if target shooting gives her any grief buy her some shooting gloves for range time. When the **** hits the fan, even the largest hand cannon won't have any felt recoil...
