    Savage Arms

I'm looking at getting one of the Savage thumb through stock 22s. It has an accu trigger and comes with some kind of scope on it along with a bull barrel. Been wanting one of these for a while.

Does anyone have any experience with this rifle and how accurate are they say out to 100 yrds.

    Thanks for any input.

I don't have any expierance with the .22, but I have a 17hmr and it will shoot 3 shot cut groups at 100 yards. I am sure the .22 will be pretty good.

I don't own the particular rifle you are looking at but I do own a savage with the thumbhole stock and the accutrigger in 25-06 and love it.

My old man bought the version that Cabelas had savage do. It has the spiral fluted bull barrel and will flat out drive tacks. Didn't shoot it for groups but this weekend I shot 20 empty 45 cases off the fence at 60 yards with 20 shots. The accutrigger is very nice. If you got the coin I would do it.

I bought the 22 mag.version, and was very satisfied with it. Made the mistake of taking it to a gun show and putting a very high price on it...wasn't high enough...sold it and haven't found another...but would buy it in a heartbeat if I find another...

I had a savage in 17HMR, bull barrel, no accu-trigger. I sold it to a buddy to fund a different rifle project and now I kick myself in the rear every time I go to the lease and see cottontails. It was probably the most accurate rifle I've ever owned, with the exception of my .308, but there aren't many factory rifles that can compete with the .308 and the right ammo. I could hit crows off the fence on the farm from 200 yards out with ease (and not much holdover).
