We got out for a bit of hunting yesterday. We walked several miles, no hogs. I had Michelle and Randy cut through a patch of timber while I went for the truck and drove around to the other side to wait for them. Michelle was carrying my AR15 so I dug my OLD Ruger out of the back of the truck, you know just in case. I sat in the field and waited for a while till I saw Randy cross the field. I was backing the truck around to go get him when I spotted a hog standing about 160 yards in the other direction. I got the old Ruger on her and bang she dropped! Ah been a long time since I've shot this ol'gun.
Then Me and Randy did some night hunting. The first place we checked had about 300 hundred head of cattle bedded down for the night. Mixed in with them was probably 30-40 head of hogs. We got into position and waited for a safe shot. The hogs finally moved out of the cattle where we could pick one out. Randy shot his first and as the hogs scattered I picked out a safe boar and dropped him. Not a bad day!
