Ruger or sti

I would have to consider Colt,Les Baer,Wilson,Springfield and STI over Ruger or Kimber in the top picks for a 1911.

I'd buy a Sig 1911 or an STI.

I held the sig 1911 a few times, loose and sloppy where my thoughts on it. The ruger is a step above the sig just through fitment. There's a reason nobody listed the sig 1911 yet I will say it looked kewl, their color schemes are pretty neat, but I'd put it right above a Taurus 1911... Which ain't saying a lot.

I will agree ruger's "p" series is lacking.

The only reason I'd buy the sig is due to reliability! I don't own one.

I do have a couple p238's and a p938. I love them....

I've shot both the 238 and the 938. Nothing wrong with them at all. I've just been less than impressed by their 1911.

Really! Just Really! Most 1911 guys are true to what they have & carry. They are not gonna be 100% honest even if they got a Sig-Colt-Ruger-Para-etc (LEMON). We do have STI as a sponsor & we also have a whole lot of folks with several different 1911's. I think this is a great place to start. I vote for STI. I have owned a couple of Kimber's. Not too impressed with them.

the beauty of asking on a GUN forum is you'll get opinions from people whos owned 5-10 different brands and have ran them.
Here, Im seeing alot of people who have owned only one or two brands so their pool of two is very biased & misleading. They seem to be more vocal then the guys Ive know here that own 4-5-6 different brands w/k's of round thru them.
