    New Remington 783

Is it just me or does the new Remington look a lot like a savage in a lot of ways? I mean it's got a similar trigger, round receiver, and a barrel nut to boot! Now I'm not knocking savage and I love my 700 I just know this has to get at some of the diehard Remington guys. Just wondering what yalls opinions are on it.

What is it just a budget gun like the 710 and 770?

Just googled it and I agree that thing looks a lot like a savage, from the action to the trigger.

I wonder if it will have a floating bolt head?

its really not suprising to see remington jumping on this design. i dont think i'll ever own one but i sure hope its better than the 710 and 770. my first deer rifle was a 710 and man that things a piece of junk talk about a rough and poorly fitted firearm. they should have called it the remington axis.

I held a 783 the other day. Didn't like it. Reminded me of a 770. I thought REM was coming out with something great. Just another budget piece. It retailed for a little over $400.

so, a hogue stock, a 710/770 action, a barrel nut for ease of fully chambered barrel install.

it would seem that they saw the Remage system was really popular and mated it to their cheapest receiver. ill pass.

The RemAge idea is perfect for DIY guys and gives lots of options on future projects. I like the barrel nut, the trigger is great out of the box and if it shoots MOA, why change it?
