Today is my day off and after dropping my son off at school I went to Academy in Killeen to see what they had in stock for 22LR. They didn't have any. No suprise... I was shooting the **** with another guy looking for ammo, when the guy behind the counter butts in and tell us he has some for sale because he is buyin it up when it comes in. He told us he is buyin it for $17 for a box of 500 and selling it for $40 a box! WTH??? We both turned and walked out of the store! After making down the road I was gettin more ticked off thinking about it! I called and asked to speak with the manager. I will be going back to the store and signing a customer complaint form this afternoon! I couldn't let this go! Am I wrong here?

Guess he don't have to play by the same rules as we do. 1 box a day. This is an on going issue. All the dang employees are buying up all the ammo before it even hits the shelves.Comment

He should at least be reprimanded and forbidden to be offering personal ammo sales at the store. Best case scenario, he gets fired and has to eat that ammo, selling it at cost to afford to live. Bottom feeder...Comment

I had one of the gun counter managers take an XDs out of my hands cuz he said it was his and was the only one the store was getting. He was a major db. I went home, got more upset and sent HQ an email. Next day Academy is calling saying I have an XDs at the counter with my name on it. Took it from him and sat it behind the counter with my name tag on it. I let it sit there for most of the day, hey I was at work

from what I understand Academy employees are not supposed to be able to purchase ammo until later in the day. I had a conversation with a manager at the one in Temple and she was saying that even she can't get ammo because she has to wait until she's off work to buy it.Comment
