    loaddata 454 casull

    Hello greenscreen.
Does anybody here load for the 454 casull?
I have plenty of experience with 300grain JFP and JHP in the casull using bluedot, H110, Lovex 037.2...

but now i want to take my casull to the next level and ordered some 400grain hardcast with gascheck...
I alread found some loaddata but just wanted to know whats your experience with such heavy bullets.
I want to use H110 cause i have some left..

    any ideas?

    Thanks

Can't help ya, I'm running 250gn bullets. 250's is what I carried while I was in MT just in case a grizzly or wolf wanted to have a conversation.

Not sure you can load lead to full power pressures in 454?

I shoot 300 grain Hornady XTP mags at 1700fps in my 7.5" redhawk. These bullets don't expand much and penetrate very deep. I shot one through a deer then through a 3" diameter mesquite tree behind him. I was extremely lucky and found the slug on the ground and it retained 271 of 300 original grains.

im not looking for full power loads. that shouldnt be good with lead bullets. but i use gaschecks and hardcast so dezent loads should be possible.

well the bullets arrived today im at the bench right now. brass is primed now its time to fill the powder..

ill let you know how it worked out.. still not sure with which load ill start...

also got some 350grain leadbullets a a present, will try them out also.

Nothing like stuffing bullets at 4:15 in the AM

oh wait. it was about 1130am on my side of the pond

Well i made 3 different loads.
            400grain lead with gaschecks
            CCI SRM Primers
            18,5gr, 19gr and 20grain H110
cartridge OAL of 45mm (sorry i meant 1.77 inch )

Well at least they fit perfectly into my raging bull.
            Will try these loads tomorrow.

            Daniel

Just as a side note: I have never loaded such heavy bullets!! Build that loads at yout own risk!!
