5 milimeter shells

Cleaning out my Dad's gun case today and he had some rim fire 5mm bullets. Have they been discontinued? Just curious. Never heard of 5mm guns.

Looks like there are few newer guns for it. Taurus made a revolver in 5mm

The guns AND ammo are somewhat hard to find. I see the ammo much more often than the guns. But neither are common locally. Centurion I believe is still making the ammo.

Rem made a 591 (magazine fed) and 592 (tube fed) rifles which were disct'd in 1974

TC also chambered it for their Contender barrels

Centurion is one of the very few companies still making it. Flat shooting and pretty hot. Fun round to varmint hunt with!!

Until Centurion started to manufacture it,it was obsolete.It was a great round .I think the popularity of the 17 HMR has taken away some of the alure...I don't think anyone is chambering a gun for it now.Pre centurion,it was selling for around $1.00 per round...if you could find it...

Was real popular and has a cult following. Ammo should have a lot of value to someone with one. Gunbroker is probably the best place to sell the ammo.
