Remington shotgun choke question...

Are the Remington 870 and Remington 887 chokes interchangeable? I have both the 870 and 887 and only want to buy one turkey choke.

Which choke should I get?

I have used the Remington chokes on a 12 ga 870 and 11-87.

I don't know who made it. It just says super full turkey. It sticks out of the gun an inch or so. I bought it at either Academy or Bass Pro and I know it wasn't expensive.

do you have a particular turkey shotshell/brand in mind? I usually shoot Hevi-shot and remington did a bunch of tests to determine which choke constriction worked best. I cannot find the actual testing data online, here is what I did find though

whatever you decide to buy, look online and see if you can find any data in regard to choke size. If you only plan to shoot inside of 30 yards the selection isn't as important as most full or extra full chokes would work just fine Look at the hevi-shot website too

870 and 887 both use the Remington Rem-chokes. Also in case it helps, Blaser chokes are interchangeable with Rem Chokes. I shoot my Blaser chokes in my 870 all the time. My favorite are Pure Gold chokes but they aren't really considered cheap. You can usually pick one up for around $50 or so.

I'm on a budget so inexpensive the better. I probably would use Winchester shells. Whatever cheaper at academy.
