I don't have that problem with the Poly Glock!

I'll eat a little crow here but got to be honest...being an ffl I get to fondle all the different models Shane.
If I were brand new to the pistol scene & wanted just one personal defense pistol, I would go to the store and pick whatever felt the best to me between a glock, xd or m&p...probably in 9mm and shoot the snot out of it until it was a good friend and trusted it. Let muscle memory take over and trust your choice due to range time. GET SOME TRAINING!!
I personally ruined myself in my younger years by doing an autobiogrophy on JMB & viewed him as a genius...so, I'm ruined. When I was old enough to buy my first gun it was a Springfield GI 1911. I realized right away they were not meant for lefty's but threw that problem out the window & never turned back. To carry a 1911 cocked & locked (which is the only way to carry one...is not for everyone) It actually spooks some people!! The gun has to be trusted like any other...but, they require more lubrication and maintenance too.
For carry, I am more than comfortable with a LW officers or prefered commander and always have a spare mag...I try to like the plastic guns, but with over two decades of nothing but 1911's on my side, why should I switch now??

Been shooting Glock's for 12 years, several thousand rounds a year, never had an issue. The more you beat them up, the smoother they shoot. Just switched to the Gen 4 .357, with the adjustable grips and it is a lot more comfortable to shoot. Try one out if you get a chance, well worth a little over $400 bucks (LE Special)

If you are going to go 1911 Shane, buy once, cry once & take your practice & maintenance to the next step.

I got to shoot the PPQ a little today. Only had time for 4 mags, but first impression was very good. VERY smooth shooting gun. I was able to get back on target really fast. The trigger was as good as the reviews claimed. Really comfortable to shoot all the way around. I need to shoot it more to make sure, but I think I've found my pistol.
