Well.... I traded my wife's G19 for a M&P 9 to a fellow TBHer yesterday and my wife hit the range a few minutes after we got home and instantly liked it. I shot 4 rds and liked the ergonomics then I ran a "Triple threat" drill and liked it a bit more..

So today while I was teaching a class, my wife made another trip into town and met another person for a trade...around 10:00 the second M&P 9 showed up..

Now I have 11 Dang g17 magazines and no glock! LOL

The trigger has been known to be horrible, up until the shield came out. Get it worked on and change the sights. Easy peasy!

Apex Tactical makes a trigger replacement for the M&P's that is supposedly REALLY nice. Actually, they have a few different models, one of which supposedly makes the M&P trigger a lot like a 1911 trigger. Much better feel, crisper, shorter reset etc. If I can ever find the M&P that I'm looking for, the trigger upgrade will be my first...okay third after holster and mags, addition. The one I'm looking for is the M&P 45c with night sights, thumb safety and no mag safety. Add the trigger upgrade and it should be very similar, function wise, to my primary 1911 carry gun. Same thumb safety, same mag capacity, similar trigger feel, MUCH smaller and lighter for concealed carry.

I have looked at the Apex set up, and its nice and the price is right but I'm really looking at another setup. After speaking with two other instructors that are friends of mine and both run M&P's they both sent me to ATEi....

Granted I will have to send it to ATEi to have the upgrades done they will be top of the food chain upgrade done by one of the most reputable people in the business whenit comes to making M&P's run smooth and fast..

I would get a S&W M&P if they ever came out with a 10mm model, until then I'm stuck with Glocks. My dad has the 9 his came with night sights, but yes the gritty trigger could be much better.
