I had a Rossi stainless in .22mag that I bought for snake medicine. That sucker was LOUD! Sold it to a lease buddy and bought a .38/.357. Figured it couldn't be any louder and surely was better for snake medicine.
Check charter arms pathfinder. Good reliable pistol comes in 22lr and in 22 mag. Both cylinders are included with the pistol. Cool little guns in stainless and can get both Calibers with one purchase.
I was thinking more along the lines of the S&W or Ruger or Taurus types... Similar in looks to a 38 snub
If you're thinking of a snubbie I have the Ruger LCP in 38. It's a great shooting little pistol. It should shoot equally well if not better in 22 mag. Best hammerless one for the $$$ IMO.

Regrettably, I sold my S&W 442 a few months back. I do like those small revolvers. They fit nicely in the pockets of khaki shorts.
I've owned Taurus,Hi Standard and Charter Arms[the old ones]and North American Arms. I also have owned the ruger single six convertables and the colt frontier convertables. If I were going to carry one ...for any reason...I would carry the North American for it's concealment ,but the Taurus for overall handling and shooting...with the 4 in.barrel..that said ,the Ruger single six with the mag cylinder is the best shooting and handling and best overall...with the 5-1/2 in barrel...but it's bulky compared to the taurus
