I see some of the Lubbock members talking about a shooting range in other threads. Is there a rifle range close to Lubbock that I do not know about? My son and I drove to Amarillo to sight in a new rifle. Thanks.

There is a private range south of wolforth on 179 members only and to my knowledge they are not currently accepting new members. There is supposed to be a new range going in around Abernathy to fill the void that was left when Rustic Range sold out but I have not heard when it will open. There is also patriot firearms which has an indoor pistol range and I believe they will let you shoot .22's as well but that may have changed.
There is also a private pistol range at the old Slaton dump another members only

Thanks for the replies. I have heard rumors about the range in Abernathy for several months, but nothing concrete. I hated to see Dub sell Rustic, but to be honest I stopped going there due to the lack of safety proceedures.
Coach, we would like to shoot rifles out to 200 + yards. That would be ideal. The range in Amarillo is nice, but that is a bit far just to shoot for an hour or so.Comment
